Jimmy Ng

Jimmy studied medicine at University of Nottingham and underwent foundation and basic surgical training in the East Midlands region. He went on to complete higher specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the East Midlands North Deanery working in Nottingham, Derby and Chesterfield, including Queen’s Medical Centre (busiest trauma centre in the UK).

Jimmy then undertook knee fellowships in Derby with Mr Guido Geutjens and Coventry with Mr Tim Spalding and Mr Pete Thompson gaining experience and skills in complex knee procedures including ligament reconstructions, meniscal transplant and trochleoplasty. He also completed a high-volume trauma fellowship at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford managing polytrauma and complex periarticular trauma.

To further his knowledge and gain new skills, he was awarded the prestigious BOSTAA traveling fellowship to visit Dr Rob LaPrade in Minneapolis, USA. He was also awarded several other traveling fellowships to visit Dr Freddie Fu and Dr Volker Musahl in Pittsburgh, Dr Kevin Stone in San Francisco and the world-renowned Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, USA.

Jimmy is passionate about teaching and was awarded trainee of the year for his significant contribution to teaching of the orthopaedic trainees in the East Midlands North region.

Outside of work, Jimmy enjoys an active lifestyle and sports such as basketball.

Jimmy is returning to Nottingham, UK at the end of his fellowship to commence his consultant post specialising in knee, trauma and sports injuries.
